MADISON — The 100 Black Men of Madison will be hosting its 18th annual African American History Challenge Bowl, Saturday, April 14, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Doyle Administration Building, McDaniel's Auditorium, 545 West Dayton St.
This annual event is a contest for middle and high school students and highlights the accomplishments and contributions of African Americans. The African American History Challenge Bowl (AAHCB) competition brings together Madison students to compete for monetary savings bonds and the rotating trophy. The winning teams and their coaches will be given an all-expenses-paid trip to the 100 Black Men national event to compete for college scholarships and other educational prizes.

The chief authority for the AAHCB is "The Negro in the Making of America" by Benjamin Quarles. Cherokee Heights Middle School was the repeat winner of the local competition last year.
