People all across Dane County felt the impact of thousands of volunteers mobilizing as one as the United Way held its 21st annual Days of Caring last week. Centro Hispano of Dane County (pictured below) was one of the many hosts of this annual event and was filled with activities on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The United Way’s Days of Caring is a three-day event where thousands of volunteers in the Madison community give back through volunteer projects. Last week, the United Way of Dane County kicked off its 2013 Annual Campaign with Doug Nelson, Regional President of BMO Harris Bank and United Way of Dane County’s 2013 Campaign Chair, announcing a commitment to raise $18.1 million to benefit the Dane County community. This year’s campaign is focused on increasing the academic success of everyone in our community through targeted strategies in the areas of education, safety and health.
